The Story of our Ophthalmology Service

This Eye service had been a dream for what seems to be a lifetime. The dream of an Ophthalmology practice with compassion, humanity and empathy already started in 2008 when Dr Lourens Coetzee became a Medical Officer in an amazingly effective government Ophthalmology Department in Mankweng in the Limpopo Province. Dr Lourens Coetzee then specialized in Ophthalmology at the University of the Free State and also further developed his skill in Cataract, Cornea and Refractive surgery through in service training and international short courses. After many years of training, hard work and aspiration our Eye Service family finally became a reality on 30 November 2015.

Dr Lourens Coetzee has been a consultant for numerous NGO's specializing in eye care. He has worked with organizations like Doctors for life and African vision.

To obtain the best results you need the latest technology. Our eye care facilities are equipped with state of the art ophthalmic equipment for optimal diagnosis, evaluation and treatment of eye disease.

We have big ideas and aspirations and only time can help us live up to all our dreams.

Mission

Our Mission

Our mission is to treat all our patients with compassion as a person and not only a disease. Our patients should not leave the practice with only a script or a surgery date but with a complete plan for the future of their eye health and an understanding of their condition.

'Knowledge is light and vision.'

Visitors should experience the art of medicine and be involved in the management of their disease as this is a key measure of success.

As Hellen Keller said: "I long to accomplish a great and noble task, but it is my chief duty to accomplish small tasks as if they were great and noble"

Our Vision

As our slogan states we have a passion for people, a passion for eyes and a passion for technology.  We want to improve lives through improving sight.

"See the world exactly as it's meant to be seen"

To get optimal results you have to use the latest technology.

Hellen Keller said: "Although the world is full of suffering, it is also full of overcoming it."

We would love to play a role in helping people overcome suffering from treatable causes of blindness.
